Work, Play, Craft or Drive Through

Family Adventure

GOAL:

Enjoy the beautiful Fall leaves as a family - (and give you another chance for FALL FUN POINTS!)

The ADVENTURE:

Spend time with the family enjoying the leaves-- work, play, drive through them, craft with them. Choose whichever you prefer-- or several of them-- just have fun with leaves!

This Adventure can be considered WORK, PLAY or BOTH, and could look completely different for each family.

Here are a few ideas to get you thinking about what would work best for your family:

• Do you have a yard full of leaves? Grab some rakes and rake up the leaves. Then have fun jumping in the pile of leaves before raking them up again!  Eventually you'll want to put them in bags or do whatever you do with the leaves to prepare for winter.

• Go for a walk around the neighborhood and notice the different trees and how the leaves change differently on each one.

• Take a drive through the canyon to see the Fall leaves.

• Use leaves to create some Fall Art pieces.

As you can see, there are as many different ways to enjoy Fall leaves as there are families. What style best fits your family? I can't wait to see!

Community Engagement Adventure

Take your Fall leaf Adventure to a whole new level by serving others!  Here are some ideas:

• Take some time to help an elderly or shut-in neighbor clean up the leaves in their yard.

• Organize a Fall story time for younger siblings or neighborhood kids.

• Organize a Fall Arts and Craft activity for all of the kids in the neighborhood.

• Organize a leaf blowing contest (who can clean up the most leaves on the block?) or a leaf art contest (who can design the most unique leaf art project?)

• Implement a neighborhood Leaf Olympics (which team can carry the leaf on the stick back and forth between 2 distances the quickest? who can throw a leaf the furthest?- yeah, you read that right! Who can stack single leaves the highest before they fall?) Use your imagination to come up with as many different Olympic leaf events as you can. Maybe have each participant come up with one event, or each participating team.

• Design a Fall outfit our of leaves.

Use your imagination, your creativity, and HAVE FUN with it!
