The Discovery Family Adventures provide ideas, activities, and experiences to help build strong family relationships.

 

Our goal is to strengthen family relationships to help kids be and become their best selves

and to support parents in raising happy, successful, resilient kids in an exciting,

but sometimes turbulent and dangerous world.

Core Adventures are still available via the website for use by anyone that wants them, but everyone is encouraged to use the Discovery Hunt (Goosechase) App for hundreds of adventures throughout the year.

Homemade Valentine's

Family Adventure

GOAL:  Get thinking! Use different things around you and your creativity to have some fun coming up with homemade valentine ideas.

 

 

THE ADVENTURE:  Spend some time as a family brainstorming fun valentine ideas. The intent is to just have fun and let kids use their creativity. Whether you actually use the ideas or not, the process of coming up with silly sayings will be a blast. So . . . keeping that in mind, look through the ideas posted below to get the creative juices flowing and then use one of the ideas below to come up with your own:

 

Idea #1:  Work together as a family to come up with as many valentine ideas as you can.

 

Idea #2:  Split into teams and have each team first make a list of 10 'things' (candy, food, toys, etc) Then trade lists and have the teams come up with fun 'sayings' to go with the items on the list they were given.

 

 

REWARD IDEAS:

 

  • The very process of this Adventure is a built-in reward as the family gets to come with crazy ideas to go with different candies, foods, and toys. Keep it positive and fun! No matter how crazy the sayings they come up with are, just laugh and have fun!

 

  • Let each child choose one of their favorite ideas and actually make it and give it to someone.

 

  • Make one or more of the valentine's for your kids! You may even want to personalize it for each child with a special message that really fits them.   Spend
