Pre-K Adventure
First off, teach by example. When someone is injured, keep your cool. Calmly show them how to correctly wash a wound. Get some cheap bandaids and allow your child to help apply them.
Community Engagement Adventure
Host an interactive community role playing game. Have a few “actors” on “stage” that are pretending to have various injuries (broken bones, bleeding gashes, cuts, burns, bug bites and stings etc.), illnesses (heat exhaustion, heat stroke, hypothermia, allergic reactions, etc), and shock. Use props and makeup, if desired. Also have some medical supplies on hand. Have the actors ask the audience members for help in first aid treatment.
Teen Adventure
Help your teenager assemble a first aid kit that they can carry with them in their backpack or car.
