Family Adventure
GOAL: Use your creativity and Have FUN!
The ADVENTURE: Choose one of the 'Hats Off' Activities to do together as a family
TIPS:
Display the decorated hats in a prominent place in the home and enjoy them for awhile.
Let the kids pick out a new hat for themselves.
If you chose to do the 'Meaning of Hats' take time to sit with your kids and talk to them about their hopes and dreams, their career plan, and anything else they want to talk about.

There are so many different ways to enjoy this Adventure together. Anything that has to do with hats . . .
Decorate Hats: Everyone choose a hat and decorate it. Pull out all types of craft supplies and let the kids get creative!
Design a Hat: Have everyone design a hat. When everyone's hat is ready give everyone a turn to present their hat to the rest of the family and tell them about their hat.
Hair Hats! Let kids brainstorm ways they can create a 'hat' using their hair. This is a great way to get kids to work together. Older kids and younger kids can brainstorm together, and then older siblings can create the design on the younger child's head (or vice versa).

The Meaning of Hats . . . Gather up a variety of hats that represent different jobs, either real hats, pictures of hats, or draw hats. As a family discuss the different characteristics of each hat and how that plays a role in the 'career' it represents. For example, why are hard hats hard? Why is a baker's hat designed the way it is?
Pre-K Adventure
